G Boom automatically turns itself off when being used in Line in mode

I bought my gboom pretty recently and I really like it for traveling and outdoor music, but I'm trying to use it to watch movies off my laptop and about every 15 minutes it just turns itself off. To watch the movie I have to sit next to the gboom and turn it back on repeatedly which is very frustrating. Is there a way to just make it always stay on until I turn it off manually?

Sorry for the delayed response. I contacted one of our engineers and informed him about the problem you are having with the G-BOOM shutting off to see if they could determine a cause. They did a few tests and might have found the cause. G-BOOM has a power save feature that will power down the speaker if no signal is detected from the audio source for a period of time. That said, they found that if the volume is set too low from the audio source (iPhone, iPod, Android phone, laptop, etc.), G-BOOM may detect a drop in the signal causing it to go into power save mode, even if the volume is turned up on the G-BOOM itself.

If you dont mind performing a simple test on your speaker as well, it might help to confirm the cause. Please check to make sure that the volume of your laptop is turned up to at least 40-50% when connected to your G-BOOM and adjust the volume of your G-BOOM to your preferred listening level. Try playing your movie and let us know if this resolved the problem or if your G-BOOM is still shutting off during playback.

Bought mine last week and is doing the same thing. Shuts itself off randomly
when connected to my android phone via Bluetooth with fully charged battery.

Has G-Boom figured out a way to fix this issue? I bought two of these units and both do the same thing: Play fine for about 20 minutes and then turn themselves off.

My two units are doing this also. I have tried them with three difference iphones and with a galaxy. Volume was up on phones as well as boombox itself. My older unit doesn't shut off as much as the newer one.

Hey guys this exact thingis happening to me. Are you going to give us an answer how to fix it or.. I'm a 95 yr old man & I don't have the time left to waste on restarting this Speaker all the time. Mine turns off every 45-60 mins or so w/Android on max. This is brand new and has done this from the beginning & just exchanged my last for this one because bluetooth light shut off then bluetooth just quit working after. Traded to Walmart but they didn't give me a receipt for this new one though. Eitherway paying $80 for problems is painful to ponder.

Other than that, I totally love this speaker... When its on.

Mine is doing the same thing...This appears to be a problem with the design. Is there a way to fix it or do I post lots of bad reviews about it and let everyone know not to buy this speaker? I'm sick of it and it has done it since I bought it. I tried all of the fixes that you put on your website but obviously you don't want people to know what is wrong with it or you would have posted a fix on this website.

Hi everyone,

I can see how frustrating this posting board is as I know it was irritating for me. This company is clearly skirting posting the solution despite the fact that they are making people angry. I called today with the same issue and was told it may be a defective power cord and they are sending another one to me.
